About trees
For every pair of these socks you purchase, we plant a new tree.
How does it work?
We collaborate with tree-planting organizations, paying them to plant new trees and cover the related work. This approach is far more efficient since planting trees is a complex process that requires expertise. That's why we've decided to leave the planting process to professionals, allowing us to focus on our mission of creating the best socks with a positive impact on the planet.
Where are the trees planted?
Thanks to our partners, we can plant trees in over 60 countries worldwide.
What types of trees are planted?
A wide variety of trees are planted, from coniferous to deciduous. The type of trees planted is primarily determined by the location. Several factors such as soil composition, climate, and more are considered to decide which trees are best suited to each area.
Planting Process
In addition to planting the trees, the entire process is taken care of, which includes:
- Soil preparation and weed removal
- Growing seedlings
- Transportation to the planting site
- Tree planting and subsequent care
- Tree monitoring
- Reporting
Why is planting trees so important?
Because every tree counts, and even a single tree can make a significant impact. Here's a glimpse of what just one tree can do:
- Air: Trees absorb pollutants through their leaves and bark, trapping dust and smoke. A single tree can provide the daily oxygen supply for four people.
- Water: Trees play a key role in capturing rainwater, preventing natural disasters like landslides, avalanches, and floods.
- Health: Trees help reduce stress and anxiety and have proven healing effects.
- Wildlife: They create habitats for hundreds of animals.
- Cooling the planet: In urban areas, trees can lower temperatures by up to 8°C.
- Climate: The average tree absorbs 22 kg of carbon emissions each year.
